Much of my imagery comes from my experiences in three beautiful environments: my years spent teaching and sailing in the Caribbean, my home in the Blue Ridge Mountains of Western North Carolina, and my summers at Camp Timanous in Maine. Art is an adventure, and my goal in life is to have as many as possible. The process is a mindful exercise of staying in the moment while capturing the energy the spirit and the light of these places that have found a place in my heart.

In my studio, I work mostly with batik on muslin, acrylic and oil paint on canvas. As a middle school art teacher at Carolina Day School, I also work with ceramics, (face-jugs), printmaking, silk screening t-shirt designs, film photography, and movie making.

I earned a BFA from the University of Massachusetts studying with artist Professor Nelson Stevens, and studied oil painting with Eric Winter in St. Thomas, U.S. Virgin Islands. In the Fall, Winter, and Spring I work in my Mountain Studio in Western NC. In the Summer you will find me in the Handicraft Shack at Camp Timanous in Raymond Maine. For commissions, larger pieces, or just hanging out, contact me through my email. If you're cool, I’ll invite you to visit the studio.
