One of my favorite mediums is batik, which I learned from artist friend Doreen Walsh in St. Thomas USVI and Nigerian artist, Olabayo Olanini. Working with a handmade brush, I paint with wax and dye on linen fabric. The batik process is challenging because of the importance of working in layers, but the resulting vibrance of color is rewarding.
