Congo's Art Studio
Got to Maine and Camp on Monday, the campers arrived on thursday, and I gave the first chapel talk on Sunday. Camp really is a special place. The people, the tall pine trees and the cool water of Panther Pond! here is a copy of the talk I gave on this first week of Camp:
First Pirate TECH CREW Meeting
Wed. Nov 14th – 3:30–4:45
Be there if ye can! For a reading of the script with the CAST. This is important — we as a crew must know the story. (Pirates have homework too!)
Thurs. Nov. 15th – 3:30–4:00
Meeting with Mr. "Captain" Congo "Beard" about tech crew matters.
Then from 4:00–4:45 another reading of the script with the cast in Ms. Heinberg's room.
See you there!!! Yargh!
Art Room Updates
6th Grade: is presently working on Cartoon Cards, and will be starting the tree painting project soon.
7th Grade: just started the Metamorphosis Animation project.
8th Grade: has started photography — learning how to take photos with film, process the film, and enlarge their negatives.
The 8th grade also completed a drawing from life activity. The students took turns (if they wanted to) modeling for the class. Each student had 5 minutes to capture their gesture with India ink on newsprint. This leads into their next studio project: Modern Painting.
Pirates of Penzance (Tech Crew Page) – Yargh!
We have not had an official production meeting yet (Ms. Heinberg, Mr. Broshar, Ms. Bean, and Mr. Congo). We will have our first tech crew meeting on Thursday, Nov. 15th from 3:30–4. It looks like we will start working in the art room on November 27th. Rocks! Lots of rocks need to be constructed, and the backdrop will need a new coat of paint!
